Drawing approval only matters when the current revision is known by purchasing, manufacturing and installation.
Field Note/Drawing Control/5 min/JoinOS
A drawing can be approved and still fail operationally if purchasing, manufacturing and installation are working from the wrong revision.
Approval matters. It confirms the current drawing. But joinery work does not stop at the drawing room. The current revision has to be known where materials are ordered, where panels are cut, and where installers work on site.
Approved isn't the same as communicated.
Rev issued · Who depends on it · Who still holds the previous rev
If the current revision is not visible to everyone who depends on it, the business is still relying on someone remembering to tell the next person.
Operational principle
This is why JoinOS treats the current drawing as operational state that can clear or hold manufacturing — not as a file that was simply approved somewhere.
